From November 12–15, 2024, the Lit‑Quest Europe residency brought together literary professionals Sofi Živković, Violeta Radkova, and Margarita Kaloyanova in Zagreb, for a four-day program centered around the Interliber Book Fair.

Highlights included:

  • Participation in the event “A Literary Meeting with Creative Europe”, organized by the Croatian Ministry of Culture, focusing on EU literary initiatives like the European Prize for Literature and the Day of European Authors.
  • Public presentations:
Sofi Živković discussed publishing in Serbia and the Persian Gulf, drawing on her experience with the Sharjah Book Fair.
Violeta Radkova presented her research on women writers and publishing representation.
  • A special Croatian–Hungarian publisher exchange, with Sandorf Publishing showcasing its catalogue.
  • Professional meetings with Croatian publishers, including Mala zvona, Meandar, and editors such as Branko Čegec and Sanja Lovrenčić.

The visit also included informal networking, cultural exploration, and one-on-one meetings with local literary professionals — all contributing to stronger regional ties and deeper understanding of European literary ecosystems.

This Zagreb residency continues Lit‑Quest Europe’s (LAP-CB) mission to train and connect emerging literary professionals across Europe.
