This November, as part of the Lit‑Quest Europe (LAP‑CB) residency program, David Piovesan and Aylin Efe completed a short but productive professional visit to Slovenia, coinciding with the Slovenian Book Fair (Slovenski knjižni sejem) in Ljubljana.
The highlights of their stay included two well-attended presentations at the fair:
- David Piovesan: “Bookshops in the Balkans, Central and Eastern Europe”
- Aylin Efe: “How to Trade Literary Rights”
In addition to their public appearances, both guests met with key Slovenian publishers.
They also took time to explore the fair, with the help of the Lit‑Quest team, and David — whose academic work centers on bookstore culture — visited several Ljubljana bookshops.
This visit marked a valuable point of contact between international guests and the local publishing scene, adding to the wider goals of Lit‑Quest Europe: to train, connect, and support emerging literary professionals across the continent.
